Information available to peacefmonline.com indicates that Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo, 2012 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) will not vote at the delegates Conference in Tamale, Saturday.
A national chairman aspirant, Paul Afoko has written a letter to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NPP, demanding that both Nana Akufo Addo and his 2012 running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia be disqualified from voting on Saturday.
According to him, section C (2ii) of the NPP constitution indicates that Chairpersons of sector committees, past national chairpersons, past Presidential candidates, past running mates, past general secretaries, directors at the national secretariat and such other members as the national executive committee may determine shall be entitled to attend meetings of the national executive committee but without the right to vote.
Paul Afoko said he is reliably informed that persons occupying all the above mentioned positions have been included in the delegates register to vote even though it is clear from the constitution that they are not supposed to.
But per the information gathered by peacefmonline.com, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo will not be voting just as stated in the partys constitution.
Meanwhile, the 2012 flagbearer has already arrived in Tamale ahead of Saturdays congress.
He was accompanied by his vice-presidential candidate Dr Mahamamudu Bawumia, Freddy Blay, Ayawaso Central MP Henry Quartey, and former Greater Accra Region Minister Shieck IC Quaye.
