Dr. Arthur Kennedy, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has described as unfortunate for a staunch party member to campaign against his own party to remain in opposition.
According to him, in as much as he agrees with Kennedy Agyapong for an in-depth investigation into the alleged corrupt cases involving the party’s national chairman, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, devoting such a huge amount to see the party in opposition should be turned out.
The Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong has been hunting some national executives of the NPP to “vomit” some monies he personally gave to them during the 2012 election.
Ken also called Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey and his cohorts thieves for keeping lots of motorbikes and other materials he personally imported for the NPP’s 2012 campaign.
According to Mr. Agyapong, none of the current corrupt executives deserved re-election.
The outspoken NPP MP in an interview with NEAT FM threatened to devote US$20 million towards forming his own party to dilute the NPP’s chances of regaining power in the 2016 elections, if the current crop of leaders are retained their positions.
But speaking to Asempa FM from USA, Arthur Kennedy opined that, “I don’t agree with Kennedy Agyapong. If you are in a party and you campaign for your candidate and your candidate loses you don’t have to leave. What he (Ken Agyapong) said was wrong...and I will personally talk to him not to do that”.
Adding that, “It is the interest of Jake and the others that we know the truth because the NPP don’t want to have somebody who is a thief as our national chairman or leaders. Jake should clear the air”.
Nonetheless, he warned whoever wants to see Kennedy Agyapong exit the party to be cautious.
“Nobody is bigger than the party but we should also know that we are dealing with humans in the party”.
