It appears for so long, certain members within the National Democratic Congress were scouting for a person who could squarely face Hon. Kennedy Agyapong in a verbal spat.
Bryan Acheampong seems to have won the heart of Alhaji Bature, Editor of the Al-Hajj newspaper following his tensed verbal altercation with Hon Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central on Okay FM.
Mr. Acheampong, who is an aide to Mr. Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, shocked listeners of the station when he launched a vituperative attack on Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, equating his past life to a church mouse. Following a recent furore that ensued between Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and Jake Obetsebi Lampety over embezzlement of campaign items, the latter’s aide appears prepared to defend his boss to the hilt.
This brave act exhibited by Mr. Acheampong compelled the Al-Hajj Editor to heap praises on him. Alhaji Bature had earlier described the entire NPP as a “Women’s Fellowship” institute with “Fear and Panic” as their motto.
The failure on the part of the party executives to call the Assin Central MP to order after the party had literally gone hard on Dr. Wereko Brobbey, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho- Tamakloe and Dr. Arthur Kennedy, forced Alhaji Bature to equate them to “women”.
According to him, the NPP’s inability to reprimand its alleged financier, Kennedy Agyapong in his recent unpardonable utterances has brought the party’s image into disrepute.
“All NPP members are women; there is no man in NPP. They are all afraid of Kennedy Agyapong …I will not single out one person, they are all afraid of him. How can just one person torment a whole party? Nobody is bigger than the party…the party (NPP) made him (Ken) the MP…Dr Wereko Brobbey, Atta Kennedy, Nyaho-Tamakloe and Konadu Apraku did not even make the kind of statements Kennedy Agyapong is making now yet they were punished,” he posited.
He however reserved special praise for Bryan Acheampong by noting that he appears to be the “only man” in NPP with ‘balls’.
“I would want to pat Bryan on the back for demonstrating that he is a man with balls. As for the rest of the group, I have made my conclusion that they are women. Bryan has showed that no matter who you are within a party, you can never be bigger than that organization,” Alhaji Bature said.
