The General Secretary of the ruling NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said counsel for the petitioners in the ongoing 2012 election petition, Philip Addison deserved his shut up comment from lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata since he is not content with his cross examination.
If Tsatsus cross examination is following then Addison is disturbed, then he will be forced by his colleague lawyers around him to raise unnecessary objections. In parliament we call this heckling. I am not a lawyer but not sure whether the court allows such behaviour from Mr. Addison to interject in Mr. Tsikatas cross examination, even if he doesnt have something sensible to talk about. I think Mr. Addison is frustrated, he told Asempa FM.
Tsatsu Tsikata bawled at Mr. Addison in an open Court proceeding saying can you shut up when his learned friend on the opposite side interrupted his cross examination of the 2012 election petition star witness, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Monday.
According to Johnson Asiedu Nketia aka General Mosquito, lawyer Tsikata has every right to shout on lawyer Addison in court since Addison has been educated by Tsatsu Tsikata afore as a student.
Tsatsu has taught Addison before so he can shout on him as a student. I dont know whether that is accepted in court but Tsatsu can always shout on Addison. It is done in parliament but dont know about the court. Tsatsu Tsikata is doing a great job and we (the NDC) are pleased with that and that is what is triggering Addison to raise unnecessary objections, he said.
