Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings is expected to submit her nomination forms on Wednesday June 1, to reinforce her readiness and eligibility to contest the NDC’s presidential primaries scheduled for July 8-10, 2011 in Sunyani.

The campaign team of President John Evans Atta Mills, Get Atta Mills Endorsed (GAME), quietly submitted his forms on Tuesday May 30, in sharp contrast to the pomp and pageantry that characterized his picking of the forms and the subsequent launch of his campaign on May 5.

Accompanied by other members of GAME, Barbara Asamoah, spokesperson for GAME submitted the forms together with the GH¢20,000 filing fee to NDC General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.

The completed nomination papers included the names of 468 delegates of the party and their constituencies, the profile of President Mills and his photographs.

The deadline for the submission of forms is Wednesday June 1.

Spokesperson for the Former First family, Mr. Kofi Adams told Citi News Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has received the needed endorsement and will meet the deadline.

“She will surely do that before the close of filing. Currently, she is in the regions campaigning extensively whilst the team members are in Accra. The documents and everything was ready to be filed on Tuesday but because we were told Professor JEA Mills who is also another aspirant was filing, we decided to reschedule ours. So I am sure the team will do that by close of today or tomorrow.

“The campaign has gone on very well. The light is being shown. Everywhere there is darkness, that darkness is being removed and it is being sustained. The response has been very successful” he said.

Another contender, former Education and Communication Minister Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, is expected to submit his forms on Wednesday, although he appears to be facing challenges to get the required endorsements.
