Central Regional Communications Director for the NDC, Mr. Ben Allotey Jacobs, says an aspiring presidential candidate of the ruling party, Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, has never come across to him as a serious politician, adding that he always has a good laugh anytime he hears him (Spio) articulating his views and putting on his grandstanding antics.
Speaking on Peace FMs Kokrokoo Morning Show, the outspoken Allotey Jacobs further stated the CEO of Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) has the penchant of passing unnecessary remarks.
Whenever I listen to Spio talk, I laugh because for a long time I have never regarded him as a serious politicianHe thinks politics is something you just get up and say anything that comes up in ones headWear the red beret of the 31st so they push him to come and say anything, he said.
To him, the former First Vice-Chair of the NDC is a bundle of contradiction who pisses in one minute and heaps praise on the Mills administration the next second; all in the hope of being given a ministerial appointment.
Spio keeps making unnecessary comments and hitting hard on the govt later he pretentiously praises Mills that he is doing well and is fulfilling his promises hoping he will be given a position and when they dont give him any position, he goes back to wear his red beret and make those unnecessary comments again; so I have never taken him serious, he added.

Mr. Allotey Jacobs claims Dr. Spio-Garbrah won the vice chairmanship position of the NDC based on the tacit support of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, adding that he (Spio-Garbrah) rode on the sympathy that people had for the former First Lady to win that position.
He maintained that the CTO Chief Executive has no constituency or solid base in the NDC and doubts if even he can win the confidence of a single delegate.
if you look at votes cast (in the NDC Delegates Conference in Tamale), the difference was small and he (Spio) was with the woman (Konadu) throughout her campaign, so the sympathy that people had for Konadu was also translated into votes for Spio-Garbrah. He doesnt have a support base in the party. He doesnt even have a constituency. Which delegates will vote for him? he quizzed.
