Eight year old Angela Mensah, a class four pupil of Morning Angels International School at Dome in Accra, has launched a campaign for a peaceful December general elections.
The campaign themed, �Ghana For Peace In Election 2012�, is aimed to create awareness on the need to ensure peace before, during and after the December 7, 2012, presidential and parliamentary elections.
In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Ms Mensah expressed concern about the destruction of human lives, famine and suffering in countries due to electoral disagreements in recent times.
�I have, thus, volunteered to become the ambassador of Ghanaian children to spread the peace message worldwide,� the statement said.
Ms Mensah has planned to embark on a nationwide tour to appeal to political leaders, the media, civil societies, the Electoral Commission, religious and traditional leaders and individuals to play their role in ensuring peaceful elections.
