Some residents of Alajo in Accra rescued a young man who was drowning in a large drain after heavy rainfall caused severe flooding in the area on Sunday.
Sources said the quick response and teamwork of some members of the community saved the man from imminent drowning.
Information available to DAILY GUIDE said the man, who was attempting to cross the big drainage at Alajo, accidentally slipped and fell into the strong currents.
Some residents who saw the man struggling to get out of the currents quickly called for assistance of neighbours to help rescue the man.
DAILY GUIDE sources said three men who courageously jumped into the flood waters were unable to rescue the young man until other bystanders joined to rescue him and the three others.

Team spirit that is what we need from Government to Citizens to take our destiny either to drown or save ourselves. A visionary leadership will be key to achieve that sense of belonginess. God bless our comrades for risking their lives to save a fellow Ghanaian. I trust Pastor's of today have seen the selfness, not all of them, but may a time without a seed, a Pastor who does not own the gift of God will want you to put a seed before in such situations they will dedicate prayer. Merchandising the message of the cross for personal gain, Lets be careful ooo for HE will come with HIS winnowing fork and take away the chaff starting from the Church. Blessed weekend
