The family of the late Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu is demanding the immediate arrest and interrogation of the widow of the Member of Parliament (MP).
A brother of the late MP who was stabbed to death in his home at the Accra suburb of Shiashie said they are demanding the immediate arrest of Mrs Ivy Danquah-Adu whom they believe can offer more leads that would help unravel the mystery surrounding the death of the businessman and MP.
“I am emphasizing that the wife (Ivy Danquah-Adu) should be arrested immediately…she would tell the actual truth behind the murder, the family knows that she knows something about the death…,” he said on Adom FM’s Midday News on Wednesday, 10th May, 2017.
The Abuakwa North legislator was stabbed to death on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at his Shiashie residence in Accra. Two days after his murder, then Accra Regional Police Command, led by COP Dr George A. Dampare, led an operation to arrest a suspect who allegedly confessed to committing the crime.
The prime suspect, Daniel Asiedu and another is currently facing trial before an Accra Magistrate court in the case that has been ongoing for over 9 months.
An Accra High Court has set 16th May, 2017 for selection of jurors for the trial of Daniel Asiedu and Vincent Bossu, the two accused of murdering the Abuakwa North MP.
The suspects have denied murdering the late legislator.
But the family insist that the wife must be arrested because she has information to offer the police which would lead to the speedy trial of the case. The family, Kwasi Frimpong said could not fathom why the wife who slept in the same house with the late met would claim that she does not know ‘anything about the murder’.
“She lived with the late wife in the same house…is the wife claiming that she didn’t hear JB screaming for help when he was attacked and stabbed to death?,” he said.
This and many more questions including the failure of the wife to attend the funeral of the late MP in his hometown, Akyem Tafo to mourn the late husband has led to a decision by the family not to allow her to perform the traditional rites which would lead to the family regarding as a widow of the late MP.
“We didn’t allow the wife to perform the traditional widowhood rites because she never came here, Akyem Tafo, to mourn the late husband when he was laid in state. Therefore we don’t see the logic behind she coming to the one year celebration to demand that she be allowed to perform the traditional rites that would make her a widow,” he said.
The ban, he stated has nothing to do with a possible fight over properties of the late MP as the wife and children are entitled to them.
The police service, he said must also reconsider the invitation of former Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, ASP Dampare back into the case since he arrested the suspects.
Akyem Tafo chief, Barima Ofori Acheampong is also collecting signatures to register the grief in the town over the murder of the prominent indigene of the town.

Hmmm God help us all but come to think of it how can your husband be murdered in the same house n no one within the house heard him scream for help? JB was able to descend the stairs crying for help in pains n at d verge of death but neither d wife nor d security personel heard him??? Awiase y3 hu. .
To Kwadwo Frempong I just want to clarify a point, that is as to why the widow did not come to Tafo for the burial and funeral rites. He should go and ask their uncle Mr Peter Abrokwa formally of Vanguard Assurance, JB's paternal uncle Mr George Amoa who lives at Tema community 3 and their aunt madam Iris Danquah Adu. These people led a family delegation to that of the widow's family house at Nina next to the offices of the Daily Guide office. They told the widows family that after the state burial at the state house, the widow should not come to Tafo as they can not guarantee her sefty. That they will welcome the two children and the widow's family members. The family also decided that they could not let their daughter alone stay in Accra and also feared for their safety so decided to also boycott the funeral at Tafo. That its because of their daughter they were coming to Tafo and if she is not wanted then the widow's families are not coming. This the fact as to why JB's widow was not at the burial and funeral rites of her hudband7
hmmm. Gh
If you know, you don't a proof of your allegations, please keep quite because the woman has every right to walk out from her marriage than killing her late husband ok. If you don't have any proof, please don't lie.
hmmmmm, i guess bugri naabu knows those who had secret meetings to murdur him so just provoke bugri naabu and he will mention those mention the murder.
Surely they were interogated till the guy went to sell the phone and was caught making him a prime suspect. So the big question is rather why the family never said this till now since is even past a year since JB died
WHERE WERE BOTH THE WIFE AND NIGHT SECURITY GUARD AT THE TIME HE WAS MURDERED? ANYONE WITH ANSWERS? IF YOU MEET A DEAD PERSON AND REPORT, YOU ARE USUALLY THE FIRST SUSPECT TO BE INTERROGATED. NO ONE SHOULD BE OFFENDED BY IT, PEOPLE IN A HOUSEHOLD ARE ALWAYS THE FIRST SUSPECTS, ITS NORMAL COMMON SENSE EVERYWHERE.
In most cases of this type, the first suspect is the wife.I hope the police did take a look at that angle.
She was dating your father, stupiiiiiiiiiid fooooooooolllll. Go to the police and go and tell them that nosssssssseeeeeense.
JB's wife was dating Stan dobge n that is e reason y she was not invited by the police, when e suspect was first interogated he said he was hired to kill JB.who hired him? He later changed changed his statement after ACP rose bio atinga took over from e east legon police n handed him to Dampare.there is more to this murder, nobody wants his property,we just want justice . the wife has to be interrogated ,Stan dobge has to be interrogated .
