Former Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) says it would be a shame on the part of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a party to offer tablets to students as a means of enhancing education when the issue of text books in the basic schools is nothing to write home about.
In an interview on Atinka FM Wednesday, Mr. Michael Nsowah stated that there are over 7 million students in the basic education sector, adding that some of these schools lack IT infrastructure which will render the tablets not useful.
According the former GES Director, the NDC government could not provide text books for these same students they want to distribute tablets to. He added that kids in the Kindergartens are suffering the most with about five students using one text book.
“I don’t understand why the NDC wants Ghanaians to believe they can give each student a tablet when they cannot provide the same students with text books,” he added.

One ayigbeman one cat
You couldn't provide the Pads you promise our girls who are in SHS how much more Tablet.... Tweeeaaaa
Mr President, even though your promise looks a daunting task for you and your NDC Government, but you forgot to add those who are going to teach them I mean the teachers. Please add them.
Mr Nsowah was my principal in college and I can confidently say that he knows what exactly he is talking about. As a teacher I can back him and say that the NDC promise of tablets to students is of no meaning to a pupil who can't even access a textbook. Tablets for what? These kids lack the basic needs for effective teaching and learning In the classroom. It is just a campaign promise which I believe is not well thought of by the President. I can never trust him on that. Throwing dust in the eyes of the noble people of Ghana. The future leaders of Ghana deserve more than that. Abaaaaa!!!
