Agborgbomefia of Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club limited (AHASC) has expressed dismay at the sudden death of Paul Victor Obeng.
He said the club would forever keep fond memories of the mature, conciliation and sober perspective that the former Kotoko chairman brought to bear on issues.
In a message of condolence to the bereaved family and the Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club, the chairman of AHASC, Togbe Afede XIV recalled how the late PV Obeng played a significant role in the resolution of a conflict that arose out of the transfer of Charles Taylor in 2005.
�We pray that the late former Kotoko chairman�s gentle disposition and exemplary sportsmanship would inspire all stakeholders in our beautiful game to the principles of fair play and respect,� it said.
The statement, said Kumasi Asante Kotoko had indeed lost a gem of a football administrator adding that, �Ghana football has lost a towering figure, one of its prized senior citizens.
It urged the bereaved family to be steadfast in God in this sorrowful moment and indicated that Hearts, of Oak shared the same grief with them.
