The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) says it is on course to meet President John Mahamas 18-month deadline to name all streets in the capital.
The President at a forum with the media on Tuesday reiterated his directive to all Municipal and District Chief Executives to name and number all streets and houses in their areas or face dismissal.
Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show the Mayor of Accra, Dr. Alfred Vanderpuye gave the assurance he will complete the project before the deadline.
He stated that his outfit in collaboration with the Ministry of Works and Housing and the Ministry of Local Government are committed to executing the street naming project.
According to him, the project was the dream of the late President John Mills and since his successor, President Mahama is keen on ensuring it is done, it will be completed.
He said: We are focused and we are committed to delivering this project to its logical conclusion.
