Checks have revealed a seeming fuel shortage in parts of the city.
According to some vendors who spoke to Citi News they received directives from their managers to withhold their stock of fuel due to the imminent shortage.
Our manager called us to stop selling from yesterday [Monday], so we tell any car that comes round that there is a shortage of fuel, one attendant said.
Another filling station attendant also said, we have diesel, its only petrol that we short of
Some of them indicated that the shortage has affected the sale of petrol but not diesel. But the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) said there is enough fuel in stock.
According to the Public Relations Officer of NPA, Yaro Kassambata there is no fuel shortage.
He said the authority will investigate the reason why some fuel stations in the capital does not have fuel. If a section of the capital city does not have fuel, it is not representative of the situation in the country.
The authority is going to find out why these places dont have the fuel, he added.
