The Ghana Police Hospital in Accra would soon embark on a decongestion exercise to dispose of some 70 unknown and unclaimed bodies at the hospitals mortuary.
A statement issued in Accra and signed by the Public Relations Officer at the hospital, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Juliana Obeng, said that two weeks from today, all unknown and unclaimed bodies at the hospitals mortuary which could not be identified and collected within the stipulated period would be given mass burial.
She therefore called on all relatives, families and the general public who for a long period had not traced their loved ones and suspect them dead to come to the Police Hospital mortuary to identify and collect their bodies.
Those who have also abandoned their deceased relatives at the Police hospital Mortuary should also come to the hospitals mortuary for identification and collection, she added.
