The Government has donated six Brahman cows from Namibia to the animal research department of the University of Ghana for research purposes.
Five of the cows were offered as a gift to late President Mills by the Namibian government when he paid a working visit to that country in August 2011.
At a presentation ceremony Monday morning, President Mahama said the donation is in fulfillment of a promise the late president made to the research department of the university.
For his part the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana Professor Ernest Ayittey expressed his gratitude to the government for the gesture.
He gave the assurance that the animals will serve the purpose for which they were brought.
