Mr. Samuel Afrifa Appiagyei, Headmaster of Swedru School of Business, a senior high school in the Agona West municipality of the Central Region has made a passionate appeal to the authorities of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to as a matter of urgency replace the pre-paid meters in the school to save it from paying huge sums of monies on electricity.
In an interview with newsmen soon after a P.T.A meeting, the headmaster disclosed that the school spends over two thousand cedis a month on electricity bills. According to him, the huge sums of monies spent on electricity bills were affecting the finances of the school and the earlier the problem is resolved, the better for the running of the school. I would like to appeal to the Agona West Municipal Assembly through the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Emmanuel Kweku Tetteh to lobby for the replacement of the pre-paid meters because at times, the school spends about three thousand cedis a month on electricity when series of activities are held in the school.
This means that averagely, the school spends over two hundred Ghana cedis a week on electricity.
