The Minority leader, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has petitioned the Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo for a live broadcast of the ongoing Ambulance trial.
This was contained in a letter from his lawyers to the Chief Justice on Thursday, May 30.
The request follows the recent allegations made by the third accused in the case, Richard Jakpa against the Attorney-General, Godfred Yebaoh Dame.
It will be recalled that, on Thursday, May 23, while undergoing cross examination, the third accused alleged that, the Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame had engaged him to provide false testimony against the Minority leader in the ongoing trial.
"We write to formally request the live broadcast of all subsequent court proceedings in the case of Republic vs. Cassiel Ato Forson & 2 Ors (Case No: CR/0198/2022). This request is made on behalf of our Client in the light of recent developments that have significantly impacted public perception of the case and the administration of justice," the petition stated.
Following the development, Dr Ato Forson believes that, a live broadcast of the trial will ensure transparency and accountability in order to advance the course of justice.
Dr Cassiel Ato Forson is standing trail along side businessman, Richard Jakpa for allegedly causing a 2.37 million Euro financial loss to the state in the purchase of some ambulances for the state in 2014.

Ato Forson and Richard Jakpa are afraid of their own shadows. Sad and pathetic bunch of ignoramuses. Live broadcast will not change the facts of the case. The election petition was broadcast live, but the NDC lost because they didn't have anything to prove their case. Massa, gyae gyimmii no na ko face your deed in court!! If you got any benefit from your action, did you share it with Ghanaians, those you want to watch the proceedings live. When you were conducting this transaction, did you disclose it to even the then Finance Minister, your then boss. Don't waste our ears and time wai.
Did you pay for trotro or ambulances? Ato answer this simple question and stop the joke. You NDC guys have no shame. From Akonfem to bus branding to woyeme and many more that were covered. Akr3mfo3
Putting the horse before the cart? With submissions closed? The scheme will not wash. The AG has requested same already masa. Oo even with the NDC public opinion jurors? When Koku says you he is a traitor but the treacherous traitors dey oo. When it is coming it is doing.
Dr. Ato Forson the Live Broadcast of the ongoing Ambulance trial will not change the facts of the case. Did Ghana get value for Money. Were all the procedures followed.
Would that change the fact that you stole our money
