Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia North, Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwah has condemned the lynching of a 90-year old woman accused of being a witch in the Savannah Region.
Speaking on UTV 'Adekye Nsroma' programme, Collins Owusu Amankwah was concerned about the inhumane treatment of women accused of witchcraft.
According to him, such acts should not be entertained in this civil age.
“The acts should be condemned because it is barbaric which does not bring any development. The perpetrators should see the act as a highest crime of the land because killing and stoning somebody is not a joke. The entire town was at fault, we should not narrow everything that happened in our society to witchcraft,” he added.
