A Senior Military Officer who has been accused of aiding some alleged coup plotters has accused state investigations of targeting him because of his strong stance against some rot in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
Colonel Samuel Kodzo Gameli told the Kaneshie District Court today that the allegations against him was an orchestration to punish him.
“Me being linked with this alleged coup plot is an orchestration by the investigation agencies because of some problems within the Ghana Armed Forces which some of us are against,”
I’m being vilified and victimized . I deny all the charges levelled against me,” he said.
Colonel Gameli was speaking to the charge of abetment to commit treason felony at the court during committal proceedings at the court which would facilitate their eventual trial at the High Court.
Colonel denied participating in any plan to overthrow the government.
“I have served the Ghana Armed Forces and mother Ghana for the past 31 years. I know the effect of a destabilization because of my experience in Liberia and Rwanda,” he said.
He said he was recently promoted to the position of Colonel and, therefore, he would not engage in anything that will bring shame to his superiors and the GAF.
Colonel Gameli admitted that he knew Dr Frederick Yao Mac-Palm, the alleged mastermind of the coup plot, because he was his schoolmate and also Dr Mac- Palm was his doctor., but deny plotting any coup with him or any body for that matter.
The committal proceedings is still ongoing
The accused persons are Dr Mac-Palm, a medical practitioner; Donyo Kafui, alias Ezor, a blacksmith; Bright Alan Debrah, a fleet manager.
Other accused persons are Colonel Samuel Kodzo Gameli, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dr Benjamin Agordzor, Warrant Officer II Esther Saan Dekuwine, Corporal Seidu Abubakar, Lance Corporal Sylvester Akanpewon and Johannes Zikpi, a civilian employee of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF)
The 10 individuals were accused of being members of Take Action Ghana (TAG), a group alleged to have hatched a plan to “destabilise the country and possibly take over the government”.

Mr man, you said some of you were against the rot in GAF when did the rot start just overnight or what? Behave like man and accept what you planned against this nation, Ghanaians dont doubt your actions against Ghana. Hate is the root course of all evil and i think if you stop the hate you can fit into any society on earth even in Togo ! Ndc is not something for Ghana and even at all it csme to existence through the AFRC comprising Boakye Djan, Adjei Boadi, Nkwantabisa etc etc and then the P/ndc came about through Akatapord, Chris Atim and others who were later chased away from Ghana with intimidations and threats which gave way to this evil party called ndc for thi*eves. Ghanaians have been quiet for too long for this party to strive, create loo00*00t and share our resources, intimidate and dominate because they take Ghanaians as foo00*00ls and cowards whom they have to rule and any contrary must be resisted by a coup and they think they can use innocence as a weapon to get out and regroup to fight Ghzna because thry have to lead and rule at all cost. It will never happen ! Our democracy must be respected and Ghanaians choose who they want to rule them not somebody forcing himself or themselves because they want to or have to rule Ghana it will ndver happen ! If there is a rot in GAF why the coup ,there has been rot in mahama's time according to the UK crown court on Air bus which the former Chief of Defence staff knows something about why didnt you act then but now if you really have good intentions ? Why wait till 2017 when ndc lost and a change of government in place?baloney !
