Angry drivers in Agona Swedru Monday morning brought both commercial and economic activities in the town to a halt.
The drivers who are clad in red armbands and chanting war songs have also blocked all entry points to the Swedru Township which serves a major transit route to several towns which have brought all activities to a standstill.
They have blocked roads that link Akyem Oda, Winneba, Ajumako and Awutu Bawjiase.
The situation left many school children and workers stranded as many of them have abandoned the idea of going to work and school due to the volatile situation in the town.
The demonstrators are expressing their displeasure about the poor state of roads in the town despite several appeals to authorities to get them fixed.
