Government's flagship programme, One District One Factory, has seen a major boost with the launch of an outgrower Scheme by the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto on Monday, 20th May, 2019 at Nkronso in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The Scheme seeks to engage hundreds of outgrower Farmers to support the Factory. The Factory intends to process Avocado (pear) into oil for domestic and export consumption.
The project is located at Nkronso in the Abuakwa South Municipality of Eastern Region.
The Nurseries are located in Kwamoso, Obretima and their environs.
The project, with full sponsorship from the Ghana EXIM Bank, will generate 3,000 direct and indirect jobs.
The special guest of honour during the launch was His Royal Highness, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, Okyehene.
