Residents of Awutu Papaase No.2 in the Central Region were thrown into a state of shock after they found a married couple dead in their room.
They claim they might have committed suicide over their inability to bear children for a number of years after many miscarriages.
Their lifeless bodies were found in their room in what is believed to a suicide.
Confirming the sad incident to Peace FM News Correspondent, Seth Mantey, DSP Christopher Darkey, Kasoa Ofaakor District Police Commander explained that his outfit was informed about the said incident.
"So I dispatched a team to the scene who found the wife conscious, but unfortunately she also passed away even before we could transport them to the hospital," he said.
DSP Darkey however added that the police has commenced investigations into the matter but their preliminary investigations have revealed that the couple might have taken their own lives as a result of the societal pressure they have been receiving for their inability to bear children in the past seven years of marriage.
The couple can only be identified as 34-year-old Nicholas Larbi and wife Sarah Asare.

Sad indeed! God I thank Thee that despite my past sins and mistakes I made you still blessed me with kids. I am broken reading this story because any couple could find themselves in childless marriage these days .Some of us had abortions(regretfully)but the Lord showed His Grace upon us and blessed us with kids. I don't deserve them but that is how the Grace of God works. May their souls find forgiveness and rest. We are in a society that is too quick to judge people and ascribe tags especially when couples are faced with childlessness. It is disintegrating unions and sending people to early graves and we should stop as a society. Let us support and encourage couples who find themselves in such situations. God have mercy on us all. Amen!
