A well-known lawyer tried bribing investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas to edit out scandalous findings against “a man” in the yet-to-be premiered Number 12 undercover documentary, which will expose rot at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako Jr., has revealed.
The documentary will be shown for the first time at the Accra International Conference Centre on 6 June 2018.
Speaking about the undercover piece, which took over two years to compile, Mr Baako Jr. told Randy Abbey on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana programme on Thursday, 17 May that: “Look, this one, this GFA one, there was an attempt to bribe him, OK”.
He said: “There was an attempt because there is a lawyer – and I’m sorry I won’t mention his name, of course he may know its him, maybe he is watching us – who is close to Anas and who knew that this job was going on, and I think he went and did some ‘Okro mouth’, so, somebody now tries to give him money to go and give to Anas.
“The lawyer took the money and was scared to go and deliver it to Anas. So, eventually he [lawyer] had to go back to the man and say: ‘[I couldn’t deliver the bribe], take it’. But of course we have found out. He’s a lawyer, very good lawyer, prominent lawyer”, Mr Baako Jr. said.

Wow! This is incredible. Please would we one day get to know this prominent lawyer? So corruption is very very endemic in our system like that? Not even the so called learned guys are far from it? Wow! God save Ama Ghana. How can justice then be delivered? Hmmmmmmm But why this long distance date for the release of the information on this corruption? Who are you trying to protect by delaying the release? Please lets get it straight. Thanks
Mr. Baako, pls help me ask your boy Anas why he is still keeping the galamsey investigation? I know you can answer this question Mr Baako, so pls tell us why Anas is still editing that video. i guess he (Anas) could not reject those bribes. the galamsey video is more important to us than this GFA thin. everyone knows the corruption going on at the GFA. it is no news, so i dont know why he is interested in that. even a child born today knows GFA is a corrupt institution otherwise how can Asamoah Gyan still be captain of the black stars. the only thing that would have shocked this country is the galamsey thing but he has messed it up now. even if he release the video in the future, we will still believe 99% of the some information has been removed. so he can keep it we all know he is a corrupt ed10t disgracing others for his self1sh interest.
We all know it's Egbert Fabille who tried bribing Anas. He took advantage of his proximity to Kweku Baako to get his mouth off the hook.
