The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Addison, has stated that contrary to media reports to the effect that Central Bank’s Second Deputy Governor has been sacked, Dr. Johnson Asiama is instead on leave.
In a media encounter the Governor of the Bank of Ghana told journalists that Dr. Asiama is on a 10 day leave and will resume work shortly.
There were media reports that government is seeking to replace Dr. Asiama as the Second Deputy Governor with the head of Ecobank in The Gambia, Mrs Josephine Ankomah.
According to a report by the Daily Graphic Newspaper, government is currently negotiating terms of exit for the governor for Mrs. Josephine Ankomah to to take over.
