The Kessington Salt Factory operating in the Volta region town of Adina has been asked to suspended its operations.
The directive by the Ketu South Municipal Assembly, comes in the wake of a violent protest against the India company by some residents, last Wednesday, which resulted in the death of one person with scores injured.
Mr. Emmanuel Bedzrah, the MP for Ho West, disclosed this to journalists, after leading members of the Volta caucus in Parliament on a fact finding visit to Adina on Friday.
He explained, that the assembly’s directive is to enable stakeholders resolve concerns which led to the protest against the Indian company by the residents.
Mr. Bedzrah also assured of the caucus’ resolve to file an urgent question in Parliament for the sector ministers to address the concerns of the Adina residents.
