Residents of Akweteyman, in Accra, have threaten to vent their spleen on the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) if their call to fix a broken pole, hanging dangerously above the rooftop of a house is not heeded to avert any catastrophe.
According to Mr. Peprah, a concerned resident, we realized the electricity pole was broken since Friday and incessant calls and appeals for a replacement or for the power to be turned off have fallen on deaf ears.
I spent the whole day trying to collaborate with the Assemblyman, Hon. Majid, to help find a solution to the problem yesterday, after all my efforts to get the St. John Sub-station of the ECG to rectify the problem on Saturday went up in smoke.
...all they told me was that there are no poles at the St. Johns Sub-station to replace the broken one and all we could do was to wait until today (Monday) to get it fixed but what I even wanted was for the power to be turned off, in order to prevent any accident but nothing has been done till date, he told Peacefmonline.com
