The Attorney-Generals (AGs) Department will undertake a legal service reform programme that will involve its major stakeholders, as part of efforts to ensure efficiency in the criminal justice system in the country.
The reform is a move by the AGs Department to coordinate the efforts of its stakeholders into a compact whole, to enhance or make better the criminal justice system.
The Minister of Justice and Attorney-General, Mrs. Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, revealed these when she paid a working visit to the Ghana prisons Service headquarters in Accra on Tuesday.
She said the department considers the Prisons Service as a critical partner in the justice delivery system, as it is practically involved in the reformation of inmates to make them better persons.
Mrs. Appiah-Oppong mentioned that the Prisons Service would contribute to the designing of documents for formulation of the programme.
