A four- day training programme for 282 temporary staff of the Electoral Commission is underway at Ajumako, the District Capital of the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District.
The staff will handle the 47 electoral areas in the district to register citizens who are 18 years and above for the purpose of voting in elections.
According to the District Electoral Officer, Mr. Prosper Fiifi Caiquo, the training programme would cover special duties, officers in charge of opening of biometric data processing machines and how to transfer data from registration centres to the district office.
Mr. Caiquo said the exercise would require them to work under pressure and that they must maintain patience and tolerance and respect and do away with their political party affiliations.
The National Voters Registration exercise is expected to take off from July 25 to August 3.
