The police and military at Bawku in the Upper East region have intensified security measures after two people were shot dead over the weekend.
The incidents which took place at Sebago and Busom respectively have sparked fears of a possible violence in the area.
Speaking to Citi News,the Bawku Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Ebenezer Asare said his officers were on standby to prevent any form of violence.
According to him, the police was still in the process of determining the cause of the problem.
�There is no tension in town, there is calm in town. We are yet to determine or establish the root cause of the problem.�
He also called on the people of Bawku to give information about people in possession of arms in order to help the police retrieve them and arrest the culprits.
