The Electricity Company of Ghana has stated that the load shedding exercise is not over.
The off-peak load shedding exercise which started last week ended on Tuesday.
It followed delays in the delivery and processing of crude which created power supply deficit of more than 200 megawatts.
Public Relations Officer of the ECG, William Boateng in an interview with XYZ News stated that though the deficit has reduced the company will still be shedding power for some time.
The load shedding is not over. As I speak we are doing a day load shedding of about 140 megawatts he noted.
He added that apart from the load shedding, anytime there is rainstorm there is also the localized problem where some electrical wires come down thereby compounding the power outage situation.
