The University of Ghana Council says it is confident of implementing more development oriented programmes, if it is transformed into a Research Institute.
This will not only help the University to contribute significantly to the demands of the changing needs in academia but also impact positively on the country's economy and that of the world at large.
The Chairman of the University Council, Professor Justice Kofi Date-Bah, made these comments at the 65th anniversary and Special Congregation of the University in Accra, which conferred honorary degrees on Former President, John Agyekum Kufuor and 16 others for their contribution to the improvement of societal life.
