A severe rainstorm Friday evening hit the Gushiegu district rendering over 500 people homeless.
The rainstorm also destroyed houses, public infrastructure and properties amounting to thousands of Ghana cedis.
The Gushiegu District Chief Executive, Alhassan Fuseini in an interview with XYZ News said an emergency package has been put in place to help those affected by the rainstorm.
He however called on the National Disaster and Management Organization (NADMO) to come to their aid to cater for those affected.
This is a disaster and there has to be an emergency plan for them. The assembly would do something but NADMO will have to help.
