THE waiter who knifed to death two British women in Turkey has told police: "They stole my dream, that's why I killed them." Recep Cetin, 17, confirmed he acted in revenge after one of the victims, Marion Graham, refused to let him marry her daughter Shannon, 15.
Turkish bodybuilder Cetin slashed and stabbed 53-year-old Marion - then slaughtered her pal Kathy Dinsmore, also 53. Cetin dreamed of marrying Shannon - who he had dated for two years - and beginning a new life in Northern Ireland. But Marion flatly refused to give her permission for the match - with the backing of Kathy.
After a last attempt to persuade Marion to change her mind, Cetin reportedly took her and Kathy for a tour of port city Izmir - while Shannon went on a boat trip.
He took a taxi with the two women before using his father's car to take them to a remote forest, where he killed them. He stabbed Marion 15 to 20 times. Horrified Kathy tried to flee but Cetin caught her and repeatedly knifed her.
Marion and Shannon, of Newry, County Down, spent the summer months in Turkey. They shared a villa in Kusadasi with Kathy and Cetin. Neighbours said the group could regularly be heard having rows.
After being held by cops, Cetin had claimed the women had been abducted by three men in a van.
But his alibi fell apart when he said he was knocked out by the men and came to in his garden in Kusadasi - 70 miles away from where the "abduction" was meant to have taken place.
Shannon, accompanied by her dad Raymond McGuinness, returned to the villa yesterday to pack her bags. She is expected to fly home later.
