Ghana is 53 years old today and Ghanaians are marking the day with parades of school children and civil society organizations in the national, regional and district capitals and major towns.
The theme for the celebration is "Investing in the youth for a better Ghana," and is aimed at rekindling the Founder of the Nation, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah's youth policy that saw the formation of the Ghana Young Pioneers, which infused the sense of patriotism in the youth.
The celebrations would also highlight some of the achievements of the First President, whose centenary birthday activities are ongoing.
