A project aimed at ensuring a comprehensive prevention of HIV/AIDS in the Upper West Region has been launched.
It is known as Comprehensive HIV and AIDS Prevention Project, CHAPP under the National Strategic Plan of the Ghana Aids Commission.
It will be implemented by five selected civil society organizations in five districts lead by Community Aids for Rural Development, CARD.
Launching the project the Regional Minister Dr Avea Ephriam Nsoh said though the disease prevalence in the region has reduced from three-point-one percent in 2009 to one-point-zero in 2011 more needs to be done to achieve zero new infection.
