The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that the re-opening date for continuing students in senior high schools (SHSs) in the country will be September 8, 2018.
“Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) announces for the information of parents, students and the general public that the reopening of the 2018/2019 academic year for second and third-year students is September 8, 2018,” a statement signed and issued by the Head of the Public Relations Unit of the GES, Ms Cassandra Twum Ampofo, stated.
First-year students
It said the reopening date for first year students would be announced in due course, adding that “management is, however, hopeful that the opening date for first-year students on the Green Track will coincide with that of continuing students, as it happened in the 2017/18 academic year.”
Academic calendar
“Details of the academic calendar for first years, together with the list of schools running the double track, will soon be published.
“Students, parents and the general public are, therefore, to take note accordingly,” the statement concluded.
