Mr Bryan Acheampong , the Member of Parliament (MP) for Abetifi, has donated items worth GHC 30,000.00 to the Kwahu East District Office of the Ghana Education Service (GES) as part of his commitment to promoting quality education.
The items include a canon photocopier, tonners, Mazda car engine, six sets of tires, and two printers.
The Communications Officer of the Constituency, Mr Isaac Agyapong, who donated the items on behalf of the MP, said the MP had set aside resources to ensure the effective learning amongst students in the district.
He said the MP, also a Minister of State designate, had plans to frequently organise activities such as quiz and debate competitions for students in the basic schools to help broaden their horizons.
Mr Agyepong said the MP had promised to provide quarters for teachers who were posted to the area to ease the accommodation challenge and would also construct more basic schools and rehabilitate existing ones to promote quality education in the district.
He, therefore, assured the GES that the MP was ready to support them to create an enabling environment for higher productivity.
Mr Kwesi Boafo, the District Director of Education, who received the items on behalf of the GES, commended the MP for the kind gesture but pleaded with him to deal with the issue of Fulani herdsmen to enable school children to have access to the schools provided to them.
