One day after a judge ordered him to submit to drug testing, Chris Brown says he should be allowed to take medical marijuana for his anger issues because its legal in California.
A source told Radaronline.com that the 24-year-old doesn't want to continue using anti-depressant drugs that were prescribed to him.The source also said that the anti-depressants made Chris feel dull and thirsty all the time and that he has been using medical marijuana for several years until the judge ordered him to stop.
'It was just another instance in which Chris felt he was being treated differently because of his celebrity status,' the source said.
On Wednesday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin ordered Chris to serve three months in a residential treatment facility and to submit to drug testing. The judge also ordered the R&B singer to perform at least 24 hours of community labor per week.
'Add that on top of the fact the judge ruled that he had to do all of his community service all over again because of questions regarding the work he had done in Virginia and Chris feels like he just cant catch a break,' the source said.
He remains on probation for his 2009 attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna.
The singer is 'really trying to move forward from the incident with Rihanna, but feels its just going to haunt him for the rest of his life. He believes if he was allowed to take the marijuana things would dramatically improve in his life, immediately. Chris isnt the monster everyone thinks he is,' the insider added.
Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, says the terms were recommended by probation officers, and the singer agreed to abide by them.
Chris may still face a probation violation due to his arrest last month on a misdemeanor assault charge in Washington, D.C., but Brandlin and a prosecutor want more details.
TMZ have revealed that Chris was kicked out of his rehab program earlier this month after he through a rock at his mother's car window.
The site reports that his mother showed up to a 'family session' and was urging Chris to stay for extended treatment.
Chris is said to have 'violently disagreed with her' and shattered her car window with a rock. TMZalso reported that as a result of the judge wanting a report on the incident in Washington, Chris could still face time behind bars.
Wednesday's hearing was the first time Brown had been in court since he was arrested last month in Washington, D.C.
Brown is due back in court Dec. 16 for another hearing.
