A meat shop constructed by the Techiman Municipal Assembly at the cost of GHC75,000.00 for butchers at the main Municipal market was on Tuesday inaugurated by Vice President John Dramani Mahama
The shop, funded by the District Development Fund (DDF) with a capacity for 42 butchers at a time, has an office, store (refrigeration) and dressing rooms.
Vice President Mahama told a durbar attended by staff and members of the assembly, market women and butchers that numerous projects that had been executed all over the country within the last two years of the government were evidence in fulfilment of President Mills Better Ghana Agenda.
He said what had been publicized by the media from the regional tours of the President showed about one-fourth of the number of projects done.
Touching on the state of affairs within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) the Vice-President appealed to party members and supporters not to be frightened and despair as a result of storms of bickering and complains raging in the party. Probably the party was destined to go through that and come out even stronger and more united, he said.
Vice President Mahama said as a human institution the current situation of the party was not a new thing in an organisation since political parties, constituting shades of opinions and divergent views, were bound to go through such circumstances at one point or the other.
