The GSE-Composite Index (GSE-CI), the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, rose 6.62 points to 1,039.61 points from 1,032.99 points on Friday with a year-to-date return of 7.28 per cent.
The GSE-Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI), which tracks the performance of listed financial stocks, also fell by 8.94 points to 901.13 points from 892.19 points with a year-to-date change of 4.41 per cent.
The session saw five price changes – three gainers and two losers.
Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited continues its impressive run up GH¢0.01 to GH¢1.67, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated gained GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.11 and Total Petroleum Ghana was up GH¢0.01 to GH¢26.11.
The stocks on the losing side were UT Bank down GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.32 and SG-SSB Limited fell GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.44. Market Capitalization rose to close the session at GH¢49,757.79 from GH¢49,637.86 million on Friday.
More than 10 million shares were traded during the session, valued at over 1.964 million cedis.
