A 67-year-old man, Lord Amponsah, who hails from Akyem Asene near Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region on Tuesday, declared that the highlife musician, Ofori Amponsah, whom he has not seen for years, is his biological son.
Lord Amponsah, who claimed he resembled Ofori Amponsah, now a Prophet, told his relatives in his hometown during a family meeting that he would use all available means to bring Ofori Amponsah back to the family.
He told his family members that he entered into a relationship with a woman and gave birth to Ofori at Winneba in 1969. According to him, he abandoned the woman and the pregnancy because her family members were not in support of their relationship.
Based on these revelations, his two sons accompanied him to Accra last Tuesday to trace the whereabouts of Ofori Amponsah, aka Mr. All 4 Real. Their first place of contact was Okay Fm, where they accidentally met Ofori Amponsah in the studio being interviewed by the host of Drive Time, Abeiku Santana.
Lord Amponsah, who was happy to see Ofori face to face, told Abeiku Santana Im here to see my son Ofori Amponsah. Ofori is my son ooooo. When Lord Amponsah was asked to produce evidence which showed Ofori Amponsah was his biological son, Lord Amponsah looked at Abeiku Santanas face with a microphone in front of him and said, People say Ofori Amponsah and I look alike.
When Santana pressed further that he wanted to see the evidence, Lord Amponsah, who was restless in the studios, failed to provide the evidence to prove his case.
Lord Amponsah later told Abeiku Santana that he had three children and mentioned their names without mentioning Ofori Amponsah.
Responding to Lords statements, Ofori Amponsah, who was relaxed and polite, said he did not know Lord and that his statement sounded strange in his ears, adding that in the house of God everybody was welcome.
Ofori Amponsah, who disclosed that his father was currently at Agogo in Ashanti Region and his mother in the United States of America, promised to assist Lord Amponsah as part of his social responsibility toward the needy.
