NPP Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Andrew Egyapa Mercer has expressed sadness over the demise of the former Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.
Mr. Amissah-Arthur reportedly collapsed at the Air Force Gym during a workout session and was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital on Friday, June 29, 2018.
He died at the age of 67.
Commenting on the tragic loss, Hon. Egyapa Mercer was demoralized that the country has lost such a great leader saying "it's a sad day for Ghana".
“It must be a big blow to his wife and children and entire family. I express condolences to his wife and children and of course the NDC particularly because he played an integral role in the party. It’s a sad day for Ghana. I hope that the good Lord Himself will find a better place for his soul and may he rest in peace”, he said on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' on Friday.
He therefore condoled with the bereaved family and asked for a better place for the departed Vice President and a former Governor of the Central Bank.
