The General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has lauded the Supreme Court for an exceptional work done during the eight (8) -month period of hearing a petition case filed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to him, in as much as the verdict favours the respondents, the petitioners must also be applauded for their effort to have tried and tested the legal system in countrys history.
Speaking on Accra-based Montie FM, Asiedu Nketia warned his party supporters to be cautious when jubilating so as not to inflame wounds.
He indicated that, the leadership of the NDC and the NPP are not enemies and advised its faithful supporters to emulate such gesture to promote peace after the verdict has been avowed.
After the verdict in court, I went to my brother Sir John to shake his hands. We are not enemies. The law has been tested and the court had declared President Mahama as a valid President.
we all urge all our supporters to remain calmjubilations that will cause destructions should be avoided. Lets all maintain the peace Ghana is enjoying now, he said.
