Beposo, a sprawling community in the Sekyere Central District, is enveloped in shock and disbelief over the tragic death of a seven-year kindergarten pupil of the local Presbyterian School.
Little Mercy Boateng was killed when a falling crossbar of a goalpost erected on the school’s football pitch crashed her to the ground.
The deceased was playing with her mates during break time, when the tragedy struck.
She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Beposo Health Post, where she had been rushed for medical assistance.
Meanwhile, the Resident Minister of the Presbyterian Church, the Reverend Simon Lambert, has called for the family, the teachers and pupils to stand together in their difficult moment.
It was not the time to apportion blame. Only God knew, why she should check out so early and under such mysterious circumstance, he added.
Ms. Akosua Nkrumah, the cousin of the deceased, said the little girl was so full of life and that her death was a big blow to the family.
